About Us

Though Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, (BGVK) was born in 1988, it was registered as Charitable Trust (Society Reg. No. No. MH/ 2835/ Ahmednagar dt. 4 January 1994 and No. F – 2657/ Ahmednagar dt. 13th March 1994).

It is based in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The vision of BGVK is ‘walking together to the new horizon to uplift the rural community.’ The mission of BGVK is ‘to enhance the capacities of the rural communities, to ensure their livelihood in a sustainable manner through integrated development programmes.’

BGVK believes and works towards the cooperative partnership with communities, like minded organizations, government agencies, to strengthen its cause and enhance, uplift and empower the marginalized sections of the society. It focuses on various development aspects through participatory approach and works towards women and youth empowerment, gender equality – equity, watershed development, soil and water conservation, natural resource management, sustainable agriculture, food security, health and sanitation, climate change and livelihood, with most marginalized rural communities irrespective of caste and creed since 1988. The organization believes in the democratic principle of participation, collective decision making, efficient leadership, credibility, accountability, transparency and sustainability.

BGVK believes and follows the principle of ‘Good Governance’ in all its initiatives and activities. Believing in the organizational values, principles and objectives, the board of trustees together with the project management at all levels are actively involved in various level planning and execution by following all kinds of credibility norms. The process of active participation and committed service helps to achieve transparency and accountability in its work.

Various projects, programmes and activities of the Organization are monitored by the Director and his team. The Organization’s project/programmes are headed and executed by experienced professionals having vast work experience in community rural development.

Monitoring of the projects/programmes is done at all levels with appropriate monitoring instruments. The organization gives special emphasis on financial monitoring. Every effort is made to ensure that the grant/ support made is utilized for the purpose it was meant for.

BGVK is trying its best to bring not only a sustainable change in the lives of the most marginalized communities but also creating awareness on various developmental issues amongst the general and privileged masses. In the last 31 years, BGVK has been growing in terms of its quality service; reach out, outcome and strong network with communities, non-governmental organizations and government agencies.
